We talked about the season certain crops can be harvested in Vermont. A student was also dressed up to learn about parts of a plant. Then we made bracelets that symbolized what a seed needs to grow! Last we got to taste test vegetables. "Don't yuck my yum!"

The students learned all about cows today. One volunteer got to be dressed with the parts of the cow. Then we got to taste our butter on crackers.

The First and Second Graders in both classes got watch a chick hatch. They also drew and wrote about the chicks. We were lucky enough to have 18 hatch! The 4th grade also got to witness a chick hatching. The kindergarteners also got to come and watch the chicks. It was fun to have the chicks in class.
Even though the weather isn't springlike, our class has been thinking and writing about how Spring is supposed to be like! The class wrote 2 different poems. One used their senses to describe Spring and the other was saying goodbye to wintertime things and saying hello to springtime things.
