I reread the book "Whole Body Listening Larry at School" and the students worked on their own whole body listening portrait. They will present them tomorrow at our k-4 morning assembly after Mr. Farnsworth reads the book to everyone. Ask your child what listening with your whole body means!
It was a beautiful way to end a short day. Leaves had fallen making the walk more slippery. The views were enhanced by the trees becoming more vibrant. I had the students stop and look at the view on the first day of hiking. On this hike, one student insisted we stop and take a picture at the beautiful view! Made me well up with pride. Hiking is for fitness but also for stopping to notice the beauty in nature.
I will be bringing any student, who would like to hike, on the trails behind the school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays during recess. They must be wearing sneakers. We had our first hike on Tuesday and it was really fun. We had a combination of first, second, third and fourth graders for our first hike. Hopefully next week I will remember my camera so that I am able to share pictures with you.
The 1st and 2nd graders were very excited to receive their first book and stuffed animal bag. They will get a different one every Wednesday and need to be returned on Monday. There are instructions in the bag. Any questions just contact myself or Mrs. Hook.
